Riparian Forest – Out now 20th November 2011 on Sirona Records

Coming from the back of my previous album, The Missing Couple, Riparian Forest is a deeper exploration into synth composition, still mixing synths with found sounds, samples and field recordings but generally aiming for longer slower moving tracks that use minimal synth elements to build into crescendos and fall into lulls. The album begins in the middle of a forest before breaking out into the surrounding areas. I hope I’ve made another exploratory melodic release that sounds like nothing else. Enjoy!

Many thanks to Arnaud Baube for his enthusiasm and commitment with this release!

About The Missing Couple (by Jack Anderton) : “Inspired by an idea of a couple’s honeymoon that for unknown reasons never takes place, The Missing Couple is a journey through the jilted landscape they would have visited- part real- part their imaginations. This area of coastline in England, with nearby woods and pathways, is brought to life with synths, field recordings and occasional acoustic guitar melodies to make a heady mix of nostalgic, beautiful, sometimes sad music that aims to be part dreamscape/part landscape, dwelling on themes of solitude, immersion, and an implacable sense of regret.”

Bridge That Ends EP
Bridge That Ends EP - Out now on Mini CDr for £2.00!

1 Alone 2:59
2 Vertical Load 3:10
3 GDL 2:25
4 Escarpment At Dawn 2:53
5 Aerofoil 8:23

The third in the Lemony Nougat series of ambient and drone releases on 3″ CDr. Bridge That Ends was produced in a single week; a product of experiments in granular synthesis. Though divided into 5 tracks, the backbone of each track was recorded using the same 6 notes locked in to a single synthesizer. An uncluttered but still at times dense ambient recording that flows to give the impression of it being a single entity. There are still remnants of my previous work in the samples and field recordings that still feature, but the music is more of synthetic sculpture, driven by the idea of soul-searching around the environment of an abandoned bridge and its surroundings.

Limited to twenty copies. But one could well be yours for only £2.00

New album news! Jack Anderton’s latest studio album The Moment was released on August 16th on Jerky Oats Records.

Jack Anderton - The Moment

3 Swept Into The Dying Light 6:06
4 Weightless 4:53

7 Eyes 4:27
8 Kinesthetic 6:17
9 Oceans Of Wood 6:11
10 Depth Charge 7:24
11 Barrier 5:06

Expanding on the his earlier ambient, atmospheric electronic music, The Moment
starts in a calm unprepossessing manner with 3 ambient tracks before settling into
a pattern of lightly toned ambient electronic music with a slightly poppy theme.
One element of the album is the extended use of untampered field recordings which
complement the ambience greatly. The album does change in tone and genre from
beginning to end but is held together via the samples and melodies that lend the
record an airy tone, occasionally wandering into sadder, more wistful ambience.
Jack’s finest work to date can be found on The Moment, and the record comes
highly recommended, particularly to fans of The Orb and The Future Sound of London.

The album is available format wide to listen to for free- for instance- here on Jamendo:

  Catalogue professionnel de musique libre

Downloadable from Archive.org: The Moment on 320k MP3 Full Download

Please have a listen, let me know what you think. The album is getting good write-ups on forums. Please also check out Jerky Oats Records who I have to thanks for releasing this record.

All the best,

Jack.
